Šara has a Ph.D. from the World Arts and Cultures Department at UCLA, with a focus upon community arts performances in Brazil, Cabo Verde, Senegal, and other locations. Her dissertation and forthcoming book, "Dancing at the Crossroads with Raiz di Polon" is available on Proquest. 

A preview of several ethnographic stories about George Stranovsky and his life in Slovakia during the Communist regime. George tells stories with laughter and zeal, and often some Slovak and American cursewords. While he will tell you that he is an engineer, his thesbian tendencies are always present in his storytelling.

I helped to design the story behind this project, and I was also a participant who was hand picked to participate. This was a part of the company, Creative Capital.

In August 2016, 5 international artists participated in a two-week Professional Development Program (PDP) in conjunction with the BAM Education department and Creative Capital. Participants (nominated by Artistic Directors of Dance Heginbotham and Limón Dance Company) were artists and arts managers from Indonesia, Laos, Madagascar, and Zambia.
